213: Doug Stanhope
Like I said before, I am really in to stand-up comedy this week. It’s pretty much all I feel like watching these days. I just want to laugh, you guys. Anyways, I watched Doug Stanhope one night after Matthew went to bed. He is crude and rude and crass and everything I want to hate in someone… but I like him. Doug reminds me of my foul mouthed roadie/ technician friends. He has a lot of really interesting points cleverly mixed in to a lot of rambling nonsensical and offensive stuff. I guess it’s the viewers job to ween through his show and decide what they like or what they want to be offended by (I’m sure you can find something in both categories). I watched several of his shows this week. He had a very out of the box approach to his comedy that I liked. Instead of just offending a few people in an audience, I noticed that Doug likes to offend everyone! He’s a carefree thinker and a drinker, that Doug Stanhope!
